“In the Memory of someone who cared'”.

What was her name? I do not know her name.
I only know she heard God’s voice and came,
Brought all she had across the sea-to live
and work for God and me.
And night and day with tears-brought from
the soil-with fearsome toil.
The tender fruit of early years.
The souls of children in our countryside.
And at the end, without memorial died.
No blaring trumpets sounded out her fame
She lived, she died-I do not know her name.
And I?
Is there a child at home-across the sea
Where thou who lovest children, would’st send me.
The young for Him to seek and bring, to go for
His name’s sake
Some handful of His corn to take
And scarter far afield-till it, in turn, shall yield
Its hundred fold-of grass of gold.
To reach the waiting children for my King?

Show me the street, oh Father, or thr sea.
Is it thine enterprise? Great God, send me.
No matter where it is-no matter what the cost
I will go with thee for children who lost.

By Dr. Sam Doherty

Ruth Munkubanda-Powell has been teaching children and training teachers for over 30 years: first of all in Zambia for fourteen years under Child Evangelism Fellowship and then for over twenty-two years in the United States of America, under Child Evangelism Fellowship, then currently, with Interlink Ministries.

Ruth trusted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior when she was 8 years old, and that was the beginning of a journey of a lifetime, of serving Christ. God has used Ruth to bring many to Christ, including her own children who trusted Christ at the ages of 4 years, 5, and 2. God called her into ministry when she was 27 years old. Now, for over 30 years, She has happily and greatly enjoyed serving Christ (evangelizing children, training others to evangelize children, and discipleship). She began by working with Child Evangelism Fellowship in her native country of Zambia where she was the National Director and continued to serve under the same organization until 2013, when God, called her to start ‘Village Hope International Ministries, Inc.’ At the same time, she also started Celebration of Ministries, Inc. Village Hope International Ministries serves the people of Kasempa, Zambia, and Celebration of Ministries serves the young people in Cuyahoga, Lake, and Lorain. The main focus is to help young people to thrive by raising funds to sponsor young people to group activities, such as recreational sports, group dinners, and camps. All the more; promoting and upholding Christian values through the presentation of the Gospel of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. so they may have their sins forgiven and their spiritual eyes opened through the name of Jesus, Acts 26:18. Ruth is passionate about sharing the love of Christ with children and anyone God brings her way. She continues this legacy by evangelizing children and sharing the story of Christ’s unfailing love with others. Ruth has served in Christian service for over thirty years. Her passion is to evangelize, motivate, encourage, inspire and sponsor young people so they can achieve more than they can think or imagine.
